If you’ve ever wondered what everyday Okinawan life looks like—beyond the beaches and taco rice—here’s your chance to dive right in. On Sunday, September 21, the 5th Kitanaka Marche takes over the Kitanakagusuku Village Central Community Center, and it’s basically a backstage pass to the local community.
This isn’t a tourist trap or a chain store event. Over 40 stalls will be run directly by the makers themselves—moms baking bread, artisans crafting jewelry, farmers bringing in plants, and even sushi masters wrapping up your lunch. When you buy here, you’re not just picking up goods—you’re shaking hands with the people who made them, hearing their stories, and stepping right into their daily rhythm. 🌿🍞☕
