Thank you for your interest in having your event shared through Oki Social.
We regularly highlight local festivals and community events that are meaningful, well-organized, and relevant to our audience. To ensure quality and alignment, all events must meet the following criteria for consideration.
1. Audience Alignment
Your event should be relevant to our primary audience:
U.S. military personnel and their families stationed in Okinawa, as well as English-speaking inbound visitors.
Events that are family-friendly or culturally enriching are especially encouraged.
2. Legitimacy & Responsible Hosting
If your event includes commercial activity (ticket sales, vendor booths, product sales, paid workshops, etc.), it must be organized or officially supported by a legally registered entity in Japan.
This includes:
- A registered business
- A registered non-profit organization
- Or an officially recognized organization operating within Japan
A valid business registration or license may be requested for verification.
All events must comply with applicable Japanese laws and local regulations.
3. Non-Political Requirement
Oki Social does not promote events that are endorsed by political parties, political candidates, or intended for political advocacy or gain.
4. Cultural & Community Value
We prioritize events that contribute positively to Okinawa’s local culture, community engagement, and regional economy.
5. Clear & Verifiable Information
All submissions must include:
- Event name
- Date and time
- Location (with address)
- Organizer name
- Contact information
- Official website, social media page, or verifiable source
Incomplete or unverifiable submissions will not be considered.
6. Safety & Family Considerations
Events must be safe and responsibly organized. If an event is not suitable for families, this must be clearly stated in the submission.
7. Submission Timeline
Event details must be submitted at least 14 days prior to the event date to allow sufficient review time.
8. Editorial Discretion
All submissions are subject to review. Oki Social reserves the right to decline any event at its discretion and is not obligated to provide a reason.
