If you’re looking for an excuse to eat from ten different food trucks, dance badly in public, and watch 1,000 fireworks explode over your head—all in one day—then the 22nd Okinawa City East Festival is calling your name.

Where and When
📅 October 19, 2025 (Sunday)
🕙 10:00 AM – 9:00 PM (Fireworks around 8:40 PM)
📍 Okinawa Comprehensive Athletic Park, Multipurpose Field
(5-3-1 Hiyane, Okinawa City)
💰 Admission: Free
🚗 Parking: Free but limited—so unless you enjoy fighting for parking spots, maybe grab a taxi or hop on public transportation.
What’s Going On
This festival is what happens when local communities and businesses decide to throw a giant block party. Expect a line-up of food trucks and stalls serving everything from smoky yakitori to Okinawan soul food. There’ll also be hands-on activity corners, perfect for kids (and adults pretending to supervise them).
The stage schedule packs a punch too—live bands, dance performances, and the Okinawan favorite: Eisa. Bring your camera, your appetite, and probably a hat, because you’re going to be here all day.

The Big Boom 💥
Stick around for the grand finale—the Okinawa City Shionomori Fireworks, synchronized with your collective “oohs” and “aahs.” Around 8:40 PM, about 1,000 fireworks will launch into the night sky, ending the festival on a very loud, very sparkly note.

Tips Before You Go 🤔
There’s no special parking lot or shuttle bus, so plan ahead. And please, for the love of your fellow humans, don’t park on the street—the neighbors will not find it festive.
So grab your crew, charge your phone, and get ready for a full day of food, fun, and fireworks in Okinawa City.
