Get ready for two days of full-on fun and fireworks at the Tedako Pocket Festa, better known as the 48th Urasoe Tedako Festival! This year’s theme? “Fun popping out of every pocket!” And yes, it’s as adorable as it sounds.
Where and When
📍 Location:
Urasoe Culture Park, ANA Sports Park Urasoe, and I’m Universe Tedako Hall (Nakama, Urasoe City)
📅 Dates:
October 18 (Sat) – 19 (Sun), 2025
🕘 9:00 AM – 9:00 PM (Main Stage 1:00 PM – 8:00 PM)

What’s “Tedako,” Anyway?
The name “Tedako” actually comes from King Eiso, who ruled when Urasoe was the royal capital of the Ryukyu Kingdom. His divine title, Eiso Tedako, literally means “Child of the Sun.” So yes, this festival has royal roots—and enough sunshine vibes to make a solar panel blush. ☀️
Pocket Full of Surprises 🎒
“Pocket Festa” imagines each booth as a pocket stuffed with fun things waiting to pop out—like an explosion of joy for both kids and adults. Expect tons of local food, art, and cultural experiences that make this more than just your average weekend fair.

New for 2025: The Kids Village 👦👧
This year introduces the brand-new Kids Village, built entirely to keep your little ones entertained (and hopefully tired by bedtime). It’s full of hands-on activities, games, and plenty of smiles.

Main Stage Highlights 🎤
You won’t be bored for a second. The main stage lineup includes:
✨ The No.1 Sentai Gojuuger Show (because no Okinawan fest is complete without masked heroes saving the day)
💃 Dance performances by local junior high and high school students
🎶 Live music
🥁 Traditional Eisa performances that’ll make your heart beat in sync with the drums
And just when you think it’s over—boom! A laser show and fireworks close out both nights in epic Okinawan style.
Tips
There’s no parking, so ditch the car drama and hop on public transport. Also, come hungry. You’ll regret it if you don’t.
