What’s Happening
Once held every four years, this festival is now an annual tradition — because waiting that long to party just isn’t healthy. The theme this year, “WE ♥ NANJO” brings together local love, good food, and stage performances that’ll make you clap even if you have no idea what’s going on.
Expect a full day of action: nostalgic festival games, DIY mask-making of the town mascot Nanjii, and the kind of cute Nanjii-shaped cotton candy that’ll ruin your diet but save your mood.
Hungry? You’re in luck. The Nanjo Gastronomy Zone and an army of kitchen trucks are rolling in to feed you all the “Umai-mono” (delicious stuff) Nanjo has to offer. And if you take the N-Bus, you might just win something fancy in the festival’s raffle — imagine getting rewarded just for riding the bus!
Stage Lineup Highlights 🎤
The fun kicks off at noon and goes full throttle with dance performances from schools, cultural groups, and Okinawan artists.
🎶 Part 1 – WE ♥ NANJO Stage (12:00–15:40)
From kids’ dances and a recycled fashion show to traditional Okinawan lion dances — a full lineup of “did they just pull this off in a parking lot?” performances.
🎵 Part 2 – Nanjo Artist Stage (16:30–18:35)
Live taiko drums, guest acts from Shugar Hall, and a special Taiwanese music performance by Balai & JUJUMO.
🎸 Part 3 – Special Live (19:30–20:00)
Local rock band DYNAMITES closes the night — right before the fireworks take over.

Heart-Shaped Fireworks Finale
When the sun sets, brace yourself for the show-stopper — heart-shaped fireworks bursting above the “Heart City.” It’s the kind of romantic scene that makes couples swoon, kids cheer, and single people suddenly remember they have laundry to do.
So come for the food, stay for the fireworks, and leave with a full stomach and maybe a slightly warmer heart.
