Moonlight Illumination at Nashiro Beach Nov 14, 2025 – Feb 28, 2026

  • Events

If your idea of winter in Okinawa is just “cold wind + convenience store oden,” here’s something a lot prettier: Ryukyu Hotel & Resort Nashiro Beach is lighting up the entire coastline with over 300,000 lights. Yes, three. hundred. thousand. That’s enough LEDs to make your neighbor’s Christmas lights feel insecure. ✨

Let’s walk through what’s happening this winter. Bring your camera, your jacket, and maybe someone you want to impress. 😏

Where and When

A 300,000-Light Fantasy World 🌕✨

The hotel is turning its massive 10,000㎡ pool area and 4,000㎡ lawn into a glowing dreamscape. The lights, music, and even fire effects team up to make the place feel like Okinawa suddenly got its own miniature theme park. No admission fee if you’re staying at the hotel—pretty sweet.

The star of the show? A giant moon temple called “Ryukyu Castle,” stretching 34 meters long and 7 meters tall. It sits right in the middle of the South Wing area, shining like it owns the place. And honestly, it does.

There are also plenty of photo spots sprinkled around—so yes, your Instagram will thank you.

The Pool Turns Into a Nighttime Portal 🌊🐢

During the day it’s just a regular (huge) pool. At night? Totally different world.
The pool area lights up with sea-creature motifs—sea turtles, rays, all the Okinawan favorites—making it feel like you stepped into a glowing underwater kingdom, minus the part where you can’t breathe.

It’s calm, surreal, and one of those places where you accidentally take 200 photos before you realize your phone battery is crying.
