American Village Illumination 2025–2026: A Winter Glow in Chatan

  • Events

The lights are back at Mihama American Village, and honestly, this place goes harder every winter than my kids decorating cookies with zero supervision. From mid-November 2025 to mid-February 2026, the whole area lights up nightly from 17:00 to 24:00, turning Chatan into Okinawa’s unofficial winter theme park. ✨

What’s Happening

At night, the entrance of American Depot and the Depot Island buildings get decked out with glowing tree-style illuminations. 🌲 Buildings sparkle, palm trees along the river shine like they moonlight in Vegas, and even the walkway railings get their moment of fame. The whole area becomes a colorful light show that makes evening strolls feel just a little too romantic for a place where people normally come to buy bubble tea and oversized hoodies.

Each zone tries its own vibe, so wandering around feels like flipping TV channels—except every channel is blasting holiday cheer and nobody is arguing about what to watch. 🌈

Why Go

The lights get upgraded every year, so if you thought last year was bright, this year might actually recharge your phone just by walking close enough. It’s relaxing, it’s pretty, and it’s free—three things that rarely exist together in adulthood. 🌟

Final Thoughts

If you’re already in Chatan grabbing dinner, catching a movie, or pretending you didn’t come here just for Blue Seal, stick around for the illuminations. It’s a great spot for photos, date nights, and letting the kids run in circles until they accidentally put themselves to bed early. 👍
