Okinawa Aoi Matsuri Vol.4 – February 14–15, 2026

If you like the color blue, this is basically your Super Bowl. 💙
Aoi Matsuri (青い祭り) is a themed market event where everything revolves around “blue” — ocean blue, sky blue, indigo blue, ceramic glaze blue — the whole emotional spectrum of blue.

And yes, it’s happening Valentine’s weekend. Because nothing says romance like handmade pottery and food trucks by the sea.

What’s Happening There

Blue-Themed Handmade Market 💙

Creators from around Okinawa gather with blue-inspired goods — pottery (やちむん), glasswork, indigo dye items, resin art, accessories, and other handmade pieces. If it’s blue and artistic, it probably shows up here.

It’s one of those events where you say, “I’m just looking,” and somehow walk out with three things you absolutely didn’t plan on buying.

Limited time and quantity. Visit Oki Social Store in the Kadena Exchange – first kiosk by the main entrance.

Workshops 🎨

Hands-on sessions are part of the experience. You can join creative workshops and make something yourself instead of just shopping. It’s basically a socially acceptable way to tell people you’re “doing culture.”

Stage Performances 🥁🎶

There are live performances scheduled both days. The official Instagram shares performer details and time schedules closer to the event, so it’s worth checking if you want to time your visit around the stage program.

Why It’s Worth Going

It’s right by the ocean at Gala Aoiumi, which already makes it a nice weekend drive. Add creative vendors, food, and a relaxed seaside atmosphere, and it turns into an easy half-day plan.

Also — if family is visiting — this is a solid “we did something local and meaningful” move. Looks wholesome. Feels productive. Minimal effort required.
